Mary Ellen Humane Education Society is a registered charitable organization which aimed to help traumatized young people (ages 12-25) build life-skills and occupational skills by working with neglected dogs. We ran two pilot studies of the "Shake-a-Paw" program in 2017 and the results were encouraging. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the board of MEHES is currently considering changing our mission and activities to provide funds to house pets belonging to victims of domestic violence leaving their abusive situations. We are leaving most of this website active for educational purposes. Please visit our blog for a post on the link between domestic violence and animal abuse. |
We invite any questions or interest you may have in volunteering or collaborating with our organization. Contact us directly by email below or use our contact page.
